Farm Branding, Website Design & Copywriting For Cookies & Creamery

Cookies & Creamery started with one cow. An A2A2 dairy cow, to be exact, whose rich, high-butterfat milk got Jess and her family thinking, “What if local families could get real, raw dairy without guessing where it came from?” That question turned into a private herdshare, and the herdshare needed a name.

Meet Cookies and Creamy, the first two heifers in the herd, and the inspiration behind Cookies & Creamery. Jess came to me knowing that she wanted this brand to feel like an old-fashioned neighborhood creamery.

So I built a retro-inspired identity and a Squarespace website to walk a curious visitor from "wait, what's a herdshare?" to signed-up member.

The Brand Identity Vision For This Farm-to-Family Creamery

Cookies & Creamery is all about making nutrient-dense food feel familiar and fun. They weren’t trying to be a wellness clinic preaching about the perfect diet. Jess and her family simply wanted their neighbors to know where their milk and dairy products actually came from.

Before this project, the business didn't have a cohesive visual identity yet, just an idea and a herdshare to launch. So I started from scratch, building a full brand suite designed to make someone feel just as excited to stop by for a milkshake as they are to sign up for the herdshare.

How We Leveled Up This Oregon Dairy Farm's Brand

The goal for Cookies & Creamery was to create a brand that felt like a trip back to old-fashioned milk delivery days: nostalgic and wholesome, but still fun, not the "sad beige" farm-brand look that's everywhere right now.

I focused on storytelling (the A2A2 cow, the herdshare model, the family behind it), a retro-Americana aesthetic, and a website built to convert visitors into herdshare members.

The Process

Every small business branding project starts with strategy. First, I learn the client's audience, goals, and vision. From there, I build a brand suite, website, and messaging that feel authentic and work hard behind the scenes.

Brand Design

The goal with the farm logo suite was to make it look like something you'd find on a vintage dairy label or a roadside creamery sign. The primary logo leans into that with script lettering, the farm's location, an established date, and the nostalgic tagline "A Taste of the Good Old Days" worked right into the mark.

For a more playful option, the secondary logo adds a hand-drawn cow illustration, giving Jess something more illustration-forward to use depending on where it shows up.

Rounding out the suite are circular badge-style submarks, designed to feel like vintage stamps and seals, so there's always a flexible option for packaging, stickers, and merch.

Key Design Ideas

  • Colors: Bright heritage tones (red, blue, yellow-orange, teal, and cream) for a cheerful, recognizable look that still reads distinctly vintage.

  • Icons & Graphics: Badge graphics like "Support Your Local Dairy Farmer" and "Real Dairy • Real Good," plus an Oregon heritage mark, to flex across packaging, signage, and social.

  • Vintage Badges & Illustrations: Badge-style submarks and cow illustration to feel collected, like something you'd find stamped on an old milk bottle or roadside sign.

Squarespace Website Design

Because Cookies & Creamery operates as a private herdshare membership, the website couldn't just look nostalgic and fun. Customers need to sign a membership contract and pay a one-time fee before they can start choosing their ongoing milk subscription.

So I built a clear customer journey that:

  • Educates visitors unfamiliar with raw dairy or herdshares

  • Reduces hesitation around joining

  • Guides new visitors step-by-step into membership

  • Gives existing members a smooth path to purchase

The goal was messaging that felt joyful and welcoming, making real food feel like an easy yes. I never leaned on language that felt preachy because I didn't want people to walk away feeling like they'd just sat through a lecture.
