The Creative Process, From “Hello” to “Holy Cow, I Love It!”
Good design doesn't happen by accident! Every brand we create starts with a whole lot of listening, research, and creative brainstorming before we ever start playing with fonts and colors. Here's a little peek at what it's like to bring your brand to life with Simply Sophie Designs!
PHASE 01: GETTING TO KNOW YOU
First things first, let's get to know each other! Once you're officially booked, we'll kick things off with an in-depth brand questionnaire where I'll get to know your business, your audience, your goals, and all those big dreams you have for the future. This is where we lay the groundwork for a brand that's not only beautiful but built with purpose!
PHASE 02: FINDING OUR CREATIVE DIRECTION
Now for the fun stuff! I'll take everything I've learned about your business and start exploring creative directions through a curated mood board filled with inspiration for colors, typography, textures, and overall style. Think of this as our visual roadmap! We'll work together to nail down the direction before diving into the actual design.
PHASE 03: LET'S MAKE SOME MAGIC!
With our creative direction approved, it's time to bring your brand to life! I'll get to work designing your custom logo suite, color palette, typography, and all those extra-special details that make your brand recognizable. Depending on your project, that might include hand-drawn illustrations, custom patterns, icons, and other fun little touches!
PHASE 04: THE BIG BRAND REVEAL!
This is one of my FAVORITE days of the entire process! You'll receive an in-depth brand presentation where I walk you through your new visual identity, explain the thought behind each design decision, and show you how everything comes together through beautiful, real-world mockups. You'll have the opportunity to share feedback, and we'll work through revisions to make sure every detail feels just right!
PHASE 05: PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
Once your designs are approved, I'll package up your final brand assets and create your brand guide so you have everything you need to start showing off your new look! From logos and color codes to typography and supporting graphics, you'll have a cohesive collection of creative assets ready to put to work.
PHASE 06: READY, SET, LAUNCH!
Cue the confetti!! Your new brand is officially ready to meet the world! Whether you're gearing up for a website launch, updating your packaging, or giving your social media a little makeover, you'll have a beautiful, strategic brand identity that's ready to grow right alongside your business. Great question! You don’t have to do both, but I absolutely recommend you do! To have the same designer create both your brand AND implement it is a strategic, results-driven move. I don’t recommend DIY-ing your brand and working it into your website or the other way around. When you work with me on branding and website design, it’s done back-to-back for seamless implementation.

Unfortunately, no. Your branding is *so much more* than “just” a logo, and when we work together on a project everything we create is completely custom, backed by strategy, and rooted in research. Trust me, you won’t even bat an eye at the logo you had before this process!
